Right!

So you know our kitchen is a place for food, music and conversation.

This morning was coffee and chat with Tim, Mum and Dad, we’re all passionate about music and chatting and I wanted to bring you all in on the discussion too!

Basically, whenever I’m talking about our music career to anyone and go to mention
‘our fans’ the term sticks in my throat. It just doesn’t feel right.
The word ‘fan’ is short for ‘fanatic’ and it doesn’t seem representative or respectful
of the relationship we have with the folk that appreciate, enjoy and support our music.

We are all, artists included, people who (hopefully) appreciate and enjoy music
and in the new music industry there is a recognition of the equity between artists and music lovers.
All artists need to respect, APPRECIATE and value those who give time, energy and money into supporting music … so… how about coming up with a better name?

We need to come up with something more appropriate and start using it! Our favourite from this morning’s chat was SALMs – Supporters And Lovers of Music –
kind of rhymes with fans and easy to remember ….. mmmmmm? What d’you all think?

Anyway, let’s get a better designation and perhaps a new word into the Oxford by next year!
