NEXT TO YOU ~ Lyric Video

NEXT TO YOU ~ Lyric Video

Hi Folks!
Happy Tuesday! It's time for this week's song content!
Grab your cuppa, sit back, relax and enjoy ☕

Ashton Lane is a very unique band in that we write songs with our fans! This week we have a lyric video for a song we wrote with Graeme Addison. The song is called 'Next To You'

This is what Graeme had to say about his experience of writing a song with the band...

"Esther, your ability to capture the very essence of my story from our conversations and turn that into these beautiful lyrics is just immense. You 'got it' completely and the song says everything exactly as I would have wanted to say it.

You guys have done me proud, as I knew you would and I can't thank you enough"
Graeme Addison- Co-Songwriter (Next To You)

We call these co-written songs 'Bespoke Songs'. They are unique, custom commissioned songs based on your story, lyrics or ideas with
you as a co-songwriter with the band (No previous song writing experience required!) The band takes your unique story or concept and turns it into a custom song for you.

This week we are opening new bespoke song sessions.

You Came Anyway
Songwriters
Esther O'Connor, Jerry Dunn, Graeme Duffin, Tim O'Connor

Just a Mother just a teenage girl
With no place left to go
Just a Daddy trying to hold the world
Together for them all

Just the longest journey
With roads that feel like they’re never going to end
She thinks there must be
Somewhere safe for me and this baby

When there was no room, you came anyway
When there was no space in our hearts for your grace
You made a way
You made a way
When there was no room
You came all the same
You came anyway

A door closes and then the next
But the story is the same
We’d love to help you if we could
But we just don’t have the room

Left on the outside
Nowhere warm to call your own
That’s how you started
In this world with all its doors closed

When there was no room, you came anyway
When there was no space in our hearts for your grace
You made a way
You made a way
When there was no room
You came all the same
You came anyway

Into this world you made
To all of the lonely and afraid
Just maybe the cry
The cry of a baby
Born on the outside
Knows what it feels like
Could bring us back home
Could bring us back home

When there was no room, you came anyway
When there was no space in our hearts for your grace
You made a way
You made a way
When there was no room
You came all the same

When there was no room, you came anyway
When there was, no space in our hearts for your grace
You made a way
You made a way
When there was no room
You came all the same
You came anyway
